Our Veterinary Case Studies are just for you! Each case study presents a patient & walks students through a patient history, physical exam or facility evaluation, testing or treatment, & ends with a walkthrough of the disease & how the case relates to that disease!
These case studies are designed to be worked through page by page, with each page providing a little more information & posing questions for students to work through. They may be completed in a series of class periods, or each page may be sent home for independent study. These cases are also great for super driven students who learn best through application.
Each case study meets the following objectives:
Practice working collaboratively in small groups
Practice identifying credible sources & sifting through information
Practice working up a veterinary case, including
Collecting & evaluating historical information
Evaluating physical exam or facility evaluation findings
Identifying abnormal findings
Formulating problem lists & differential diagnoses
Use critical thinking to synthesize case information with prior knowledge
Learn & use new veterinary vocabulary
Learn more about the disease presented in the case
Each case study includes:
Case study activity worksheet
Case study key - includes answers to all questions for teachers, plus a list of objectives & recommendations for completion
Case study presentation - for some cases, this presentation includes pictures or videos that further illustrate aspects of the case, while for other it includes the same information as the activity worksheet so you can pace students
